Spa/Pool Removal

Complete spa and pool removal services

Unused pools and spas can quickly become mosquito breeding grounds. Not only that, but once they  become a waste of money, turned off and neglected, they simply take up a lot of yard space. With the way California land moves and settles over time, even pools still in service can become structurally compromised. This can lead to water leaks, which becomes an unnecessary and damaging expense. Although removing a pool is not inexpensive, fixing one can cost nearly as much as having a brand new one installed, and will likely only act as a band-aid. There are two types of pool removals. A full removal or a partial removal. A full removal is exactly that. We remove every piece of the pool and fill it in. A partial removal is more common, and each city has subtly different requirements. J.B. Hauling exceeds those requirements. We break a 4 square foot hole in the bottom of the deep end for drainage, then we break and remove the coping between 2-3 feet down from grade. There are a couple of inspections during this process. Once we have cut back all of the rebar and passed the initial demolition inspection, we can begin to backfill and compact the hole. There are several necessary soil inspections during this process. J.B. Hauling handles all of the permitting and inspection processes from beginning to end. In ground spas are very similar, just on a smaller scale. If you have a standard above-ground spa, there is no permitting or inspection required. As always, our estimates are free. Avoid unnecessary hassles during a pool removal and call an experienced professional.
